I have a confession to make. I am a full-fledged, unashamed chocoholic, and I have no intentions of kicking the habit. As you might guess, the day I spent in Perugia, Italy, at the city’s annual chocolate festival was one of the best days of my life, and it’s where I met one of the universe’s greatest gifts to mankind: Italian hot chocolate.

This thick, decadent drink is absolutely nothing like the weak stuff that comes out of those packets. It’s actually a version of the chocolate drink that was adopted by Europeans in the 16th century, and if you’re a fellow chocolate lover, you need to add this recipe to your cold-weather arsenal.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3″; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
