Insane New Mercedes Will Use Sunlight And Wind As Power To Drive

After taking a look at the Mercedes-Benz Vision G-Code, it’s safe to say the future’s not too far off.

While celebrating the opening of its new product engineering center in Beijing, the German automaker decided to unveil its latest sports utility coupe, abbreviated as SUC.

It looks like something out of “Tron,” and in case you were wondering, that’s a good thing.

Technology was the main focus when designing the G-Code at Mercedes-Benz’s main offices in Sindelfingen, Germany.

And the coolest part besides the fact that it looks like a sleek spaceship? It’s hydrogen-powered.

But, wait, there’s more!

According to Engadget, the G-Code boasts “multi-voltaic” paint that enables the car to generate electricity in several ways.

In a sense, it’s pretty much a massive solar panel powered by itself.

The car’s front wheels run on a hydrogen engine while the rear wheels are powered by an electric motor.

As of right now, the car is in its conceptual stage and there’s been no word on whether or not it will go into mass production.

However, it’s pretty awesome to know this kind of stuff will exist to someday make Maseratis look like gas-guzzling go-karts.
